The duo will travel through original compositions, choice Jazz and Latin standards, Brazilian rhythms, Blues interpretations, and a lot of extemporaneous improvisation. FRANCESCO CROSARA (piano) – Born in Milan, Italy, Francesco is a jazz pianist, composer and educator who has played at festivals and venues across the USA, Japan, Canada, Mexico, France, Spain, and Italy. Francesco attended the Conservatory of Music Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he majored in harmony and composition. He has performed with Lionel Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Richie Cole, Bobby Shew, Ira Sullivan, Don Menza, John Heard, Gabe Baltazar, Mayuto Correa, Bruce Forman, Barbara Morrison, Earl Palmer, Noel Okimoto, and Mark Lewis. He has produced 6 albums, featuring guest artists such as tenor sax great Von Freeman and singer Lilian Terry (Francesco’s mother, whose memoirs “Dizzy, Duke, Brother Ray and Friends” were just published by the University of Illinois Press)....
